I don't know if this was suggested before. I searched a bit and didn't found a topic on this. Basically the idea is to allow airlines to create maintenance facilities on the airports. I disposed it in topics for better visualization.
- In addition, they would be able to sell their services, via maintenance subsidiaries, in those facilities to small airlines or the airlines that don't have maintenance facilities on that particular airport.
- Logically, the airlines would be able to make contracts with each other to reduce costs, raise competition and stuff like that.
- To be implemented realistically I think this should be done with the timetable scheduling.
- Other things that should be implemented with this concept is what types of aircraft would be able to do the maintenance on the facility. This would depend on the size of the building and what type of aircraft is based on that airport, for example.
- Primarily, the companies should be building those facilities on airports where they operate regularly, as a hub or as normal destination. Moreover I think this could be extended to other places where the alliance has many flights or is a hub of a alliance member.
Let me know what you think. Thanks!
