In real life, when airlines prefer to load or unload their passengers especially big airplanes, they usually use a Jet Bridge that connects the terminal directly to the plane. However, this costs the airline a specific amount of money depending on the time how long the planes use jet bridges. There is already payment for gate allocation/leasing in airports but for major airports, there are jet bridges. In this case, smaller regional airports don't have jet bridges, Major International Airports have jet bridges and they also have a leasing price that's why budget airlines do not use jet bridges.
The bottom line is that to help make the airline simulation realistic, why try to add the options for an airline to lease jet bridges for their gates. --Advantages of the jet bridges could be: additional income since passengers would choose comfortable walkways towards the plane than walking on the busy tarmac.
-Disadvantage of the jet bridges could be: additional gate leasing costs for the airline whether budget or not. This is the challenge for players preferring budget or low-cost airlines who will compete with the market with major airlines who would choose to use jet bridges.
I hope this suggestion would help in enhancing this very nice game. Thanks very much
