"Now all of that above is pretty sus, but here is the biggest giveaway yet. JATAM invited me to join Oneworld on 2020-10-08 14:31:31 and I replied by asking if it was going to create a conflict with China Southern Airlines, which also operates in China. I got a reply saying that it wouldn't be a problem on 2020-10-09 09:53:50, but here's the thing. The last time China Southern Airlines was active was October 7. How could JATAM have asked China Southern Airlines between those two times if China Southern Airlines wasn't active since October 7? Unless, if both airlines were run by the same person."

Could've just asked someone IRL

Well there should be an option to do so, since sometimes, airline might want to just keep the gates to themselves, as they might need it for future use.

There also comes the issue of terminals, where some airlines might just want to keep the terminals to themselves.

It's a great idea, but a lot of thought has to be put into it as the mechanics is gonna be really complicated. (I don't think this is the first time an idea like this has been brought up as well)

Also, the situation at Lisbon is even worse, as it only has 47 gates and as an annual passenger count of 31 million, that's almost 1 million passengers per gate, while Oklahoma City only has 20 gates, but it's annual passenger count is 4.4 million.

I forgot to mention that there should be a feature that allows one to not share gates at times, like in the gates tab, or settings. idk how many people actually use the settings tab tho.

I personally have never had a problem with Lisbon, but Kai Tak Airport, I assume, had similar problems, given that it had few gates. An international airport as a capital with very few gates is not ideal. TBH large international airports have enough gates (normally), but there are exceptions everywhere.

P.S. the problem with Oklahoma City is the quantity of airlines that fly there, and the passenger amounts to large airports really is absurd. I think only one or two airlines that fly there are actually using all their slots.

I can't remember the proper term but I mean like what US airlines do with their regional carriers

Take Varanasi as an example. In R Delta one airline has a terminal and eight other airlines have flights from the airport. Check the airport now and 8 out of 8 gates are available. Not sure how many gates before but you have found a way to create extra gates.

beacause they are gates available to lease
