When's the next reset? Just wondering. I got into the game kind of late and, obviously, would like to even the playing field.

I dont mean to sound harsh but, honestly, would a reset really benefit u in the long-run?
Like, i started playing AE in a round where 99% of routes where either crowded and just overflowing with planes. Yet, instead of asking for a reset, i started by focusing my attention on playing around in AE and getting a feel for the different things in AE and how to best use my strategy. So far, so good..
A reset wont guarantee instant success...

It depends on a couple factors;
How ready is V3. If it is almost ready in weeks than we may see a longer play round.
Is there any features of V3 that can be tested in the current version? If so, we may get a short play round.
If V3 is not a factor then we can expect the play round to last to year 8 or so. That will allow TW to focus on V3 for as long as possible without the distraction of a new round.
OTOH, if the gods want they could restart tomorrow. But I wouldn't make plans on that. When the top 10 quit because of boredom, then its time.

Torque said that the nest re-set would probably be when V3 arrives.

I'm not asking for a reset. I'm just wanting to know how far off the next one is. Thanks for the answers guys.

Boredom? Nah, plenty of airports to take over still

The gods could build terminals at every single airport each and still have enough money left to buy an A380 or two.....im not complaining bout my rank, but i could have done better (and have less people invading me) in the beginning, but this is the best ive ever been in two games. Reset now? No...I've gotten in the groove of things? Just keep alert for V3...i just hope that its still dial up friendly then....

Really, I'm not asking for a reset. I'm sure if I worked at it enough I can get a good airline going. I just wanted to know how far off the next one was, just curious I guess.

Well, an estimate, if there was going to be another reset.. 3-4 months (thats just a guess, dont take it as the word of god )
Though, u got to consider if may run longer due to the fact, Torque and Miller are developing AE V3, which is not 50% complete, as Torque said.

No, most games run 1-2 months real time, though they can be longer if nothing sgnificant happens. Games have been reset due to saturation, server errors, implementation of new features, etc. I think the last one was due to several bugs in the game, which also ruined competition.

Well....the game has already been in for one month already, and then some. I dont expect a reset any time soon though....nor do i really want one. And was the last one really changed due to bugs? Wasn't it more like no one could compete with Laytex after she owned everyone....ahhh those were the days....seeing people like Song, and Australis close to #1 but never there....and look where they are now! lol

I know the game before that was reset due to saturation, but I'm pretty sure the last game was reset due to the load factor bug and the one-way bug. Even though the latter was fixed, it was simply too late for the game to change.

It wasnt saturation, it was complaining, the last few weeks all the whiners decided to come out and there were like 70342788245 threads of resets.

Well you have to remember, last game the saturation occured MUCH faster because of the lack of delivery rules. Although they may slow growth, they are in the end a benefit in that they allow a closer and longer gameplay. I would never have been close to being caught by some of my WAA comrades had I been able to recieve more than two 739's a day earlier in the game.
