I understand that puerto rico is its own country but since its a us territory shouldn't i be able to fly international from it??? I tried to go from san juan to lhr but it said political restrictions. Doesen't American eagle poerate out of San Juan and fly to the Carribbean islands? isnt that the same thing im trying to do except a different destination?

Right now, SJU is restricted. Been like that for as long as I can remember.

American Eagle is shutting down operations at SJU on April 1.
Anyways, it's a known issue. An attempt to make SJU available to US-based airlines (like GUM and STT are currently) failed miserably, so the code had to be backed out.
