There are nearly no gates left in S1. 1000 miles within KTM the biggest 70 only have occasionally gates left, with nearly none in the biggest 36. Smaller airports have just 400.000 passengers but not that problem.
The problem persists when expanding to 2000 miles, although kless severe at the now available biggest airports due to their high capacity of gates. And I can't build a terminal anywhere else either.
Isn't there something that can be done against that?

The realistic worlds probably allow too many gates at airports, because multiple home airlines can build huge terminals and run them at very little cost, where there is no space in reality.

Airline runs empty fligths to keep slots

A couple of stories mentioning the value of slots

If anything Airline Empires is too generous!

This is S1, where airlines cannot build more than 1 terminal. And I wouldn't call it generous, as LHR is a case for itself. Many other airports don't even have slots irl due to low traffic or at least have some slots left if it isn't the 6-7 o'clock rushhour.
