Incorrect Political Restrictions concerning flights from British Overseas Territories (Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, etc.)

Posted by seljukGhaznavids on 02 January 2018 - 11:26 AM

I have noticed that flights to, from, and between Anguilla, Montserrat, the Cayman Islands, the Turks and Caicos islands, Bermuda, and British Virgin Islands have incorrect political restrictions. These territories are all British, and as such, should be counted as part of Britain, as Saint Helena, Ascencion, Gibraltar, and Britain itself are.

No, these political restrictions are correct as British Overseas Territories are NOT Part of the United Kingdom and as such AE treats them as seperate countries.

Then why is Saint Helena counted as the UK? Also, these political restrictions are still not correct as British Airways can fly from Providenciales, Turks and Caicos to Antigua when my British-based airline can't do that? British airlines should be able to fly from BOTs to not-Britain.

That's a mistake in regards to Saint Helena and Ascension. With regards to your real world example, as a reminder Airline Empires is not set up for 5th freedom flights so many stopovers that occur irl aren't possible in AE. As I previously stated BOTs are not considered to be part of the United Kingdom, while the Department of Transport from the UK government handles and is the contracting party in ASAs they do so on behalf of the relevant BOT and they are seperate to the ones for the UK proper. As such it can not be assumed that UK-based airlines automatically have full operational rights in BOTs that are equivalent to those they have in the United Kingdom.
