Boeing 737-8 MAX capacity

Posted by call14 on 17 July 2014 - 05:20 AM

Boeing will increase the capacity of the 737-8 MAX up to 200 passengers http://aviationweek....737-max-variant

That's a completely different model.

"The modification will give the new sub-model seating for up to 200"

It says there that it's a "Sub-Model" which means it's a new model, as the standard 737-8 MAX will still be offered with 189 (?) seats

Here saids a high density version so maybe we have to wait until official data from boeing is released http://airchive.com/...apacity-to-200/

So post it in the aircraft requests.

This has now been solved, as it is only a door config it does not warrant a new type.

But what about the 189 seat 737-8MAX will that just be forgetten?

Essentially the difference is like the 737-900 and 737-900ER, simply an extra exit, which can be left away if it is not needed to save some weight. There should be minor performance differences between them two.

Well no, if you want 189 seats, you put 189 seats in?

Well no, if you want 189 seats, you put 189 seats in?

As said here, it will be the 737-8MAX rather then the 737-MAX8

So technically, there are 2 separate variants...

But, if you are going to use that logic, why do we have a 189 seat 737-900?

Why if people only want a 189 seater 739, why don't they just put 189 seats in a 737-900ER?

The 739 was firstly offered for a few years with the 189Y model and then only the 220 model was sold a few years after the first release, please do talk to Brit about this :P
