#144971 load factor question

Posted by stitch626 on 04 June 2013 - 06:19 AM in New Players and Questions

Are there any tips for identifying which routes are only 100% due to a high connecting passenger rate?

#144661 S4 - Help! How do I repay or make payments on a bond?

Posted by stitch626 on 31 May 2013 - 06:33 PM in New Players and Questions

When I first started, this caught me off guard as well. I couldn't figure it out- every time I logged in, I had positive cash in my bank, so I couldn't figure out why it didn't make the payments. Then I logged in at the right time and figured out the problem- when the game would roll around to the first of the month, I actually was very short and sometimes in the red. The cause- operational expenses. I would balance out throughout the month once route income would come in, but I wouldnt have enough to cover every expense fully by the end of the month.

#142059 Solution to Constant Expansion

Posted by stitch626 on 21 April 2013 - 09:50 PM in General AE Discussion

Id def like to see more depth to the game.

Features that I think would be fun to explore would be more ground services- club rooms for example. I also think you should be able to add fees for checked bags or even more classes such as premium economy. Real life airlines have it, they use it as a revenue source, so why not in AE?

In flight services could be expanded so you could pick and chose your seat types for each class- so you could chose to never upgrade your first class from the 1970's style seats, or once the seats become available upgrade to lie-flat bed seats with turn down service.

Id like to see more about the service side. For example offering ground services such as lounges within your hubs, choice of seats types on the planes (for example.like you could go cheap and use the same 1970's seats the entire game life, or you could upgrade in 2000 to life flat bed seats).

On the maintenance side what about adding necessary refurbishments of your airplanes, perhaps based on customer feedback. Similar to the PC game Airline Tycoon, which as passengers disembark you receive feedback such as old planes, or awesome seats/interior/service.

#138982 Merger Test?

Posted by stitch626 on 19 February 2013 - 07:13 PM in General AE Discussion

I've studied previous talks on mergers and I think my idea I came out on my first post on this thread is fair and abuse-proof (please read).

I like the idea of mergers...but I can see where it could easily be used to abuse the system. Say you are wanting to grow your airline faster, but obviously restrictions on aircraft buying/leasing limits how fast you can get aircraft to grow your airline. So you create a second airline/account and start ordering and building a route structure that would complement, and not compete, with your first one..then you merge, effectively creating one large airline in less time than it would have taken you to grow each normally. Where there is a will to abuse a game/loophole, people will find a way. Sure they could add restrictions, etc, but then it gets more and more complicated for the developers to implement and a simple feature/idea just gets messy.

#133802 Early payof of a bond.

Posted by stitch626 on 22 December 2012 - 08:57 AM in New Players and Questions

I agree that it would be nice if you could repay bonds Like in the real world, you would save lots of money on interest and have incentives for paying it back. I also had no idea it hurt my credit rating, so I went to cash out two bonds to purchase more planes. Then BAM it hit my credit raiting and I am WAY over (have 18 leased..and with my credit rating can only have 10) and stuck until they get paid back..with plenty of money in the bank to pay them off, just not enough to go out and buy planes outright.

#133587 Tips for New Players

Posted by stitch626 on 20 December 2012 - 06:10 AM in New Players and Questions

I am very new to this game...still getting the hang of things and have restarted a couple times after I quickly went into the red...

however one thing I consistently found that I benefited from, and is often recommended against in this thread, is implementing IFS.

My latest attempt is barely a month old in game time, and with 5 routes. So far ten days into the month my IFS has profited me close to 300,000...and it only cost me 6,900 in IFS expenses. That would be about 294,000 of added income that I would be missing out on if I had skipped IFS.

Just my two cents... I still have a lot to learn on how to expand quicker and more efficiently...but I'll get to that point after much trial and error I am sure.
