Are these aircraft on lease?
EI- is the registration prefix of the Republic of Ireland, not Italy.
Many airlines operate EI- aircraft as they are leased from Irish-based leasing companies (GECAS, AerCap and Avolon come to mind)

No, there are not. Also, look at this.
The aircraft, that you have referenced, EI-DTN, is on long-term lease, formerly Alitalia, now ITA. Another reason as to why Alitalia/ITA aircraft have Irish registrations is that they are a consequence of the merger between Alitalia and Air One, in 2009. Air One, before the merger set up an Ireland-based lease company, AP Fleets. To take advantage of low Irish taxes, Alitalia sold most of their aircraft to AP Fleets, and leased them back, taking advantage of this. In short Alitalia/ITA are basically leasing aircraft to themselves. This is still legal though

You don't understand aircraft leasing.
