Pacific National Airlines Boeing 747SP

It's 1985.

PNA's flagship 747 service to London is grounded. 7PN and 8PN, the two PNA 747-100s used on this sector, are grounded. The L1011 doesn't have the range and PNA's 767s are still years away.
Whilst urgent maintance work on 7PN and 8PN was carried out and a projected downtime in excess of 3 months, we were desperate. One of our L1011's, N011PN was deployed on a modified SEA-JFK-LHR sector, however this wasn't enough to entirely replace the flagship twice daily 747Superjet service.

Again, our friends down south at American Pacific help us out. Ampac offered to lease N12321 on a tasty deal. A simple PNA sticker was slapped on the 747 before it's fast tracked delivery to PNA.
Depicted here is Ampac's N12321 in a modified PNA/Ampac hybrid livery, a scheme it wore for 4 months whilst on secondment to PNA.

I like it. Always liked hybrids, but it looks good.

    This is great!
