When Empire Airways bought into the Concorde program in the late 60s, it was envisioned that the standard livery could be used. This proved not to be the case as the dark paint could not dissipate the heat on the nose, leading to a much more subdued design once the aircraft entered service.

Despite this, all the way up to launch, Empire featured this stunning livery on all it's promotional material.
