China Capital Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8

China Capital Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8

China Capital Airlines first purchased the Boeing 737 MAX in 2013 in order to replace their older Boeing 737-800s and 737-900s. They ordered 35 units of the MAX 8 and 15 MAX 9s. As the MAX entered service, it was seen as a reliable jet on the outside, always performing on-time and up to standard with efficiency. Internally, pilots complained about how the jet maneuvered, citing that at times it became quite odd to control during early phases of flight. Usually, they were able to mitigate these problems as China Capital ordered their MAXs with the optional AOA disagree sensors. It was not until the crash of Ethiopian 302 where China Capital would ground their 737 MAX fleet indefinitely and begin to take serious notice of pilot complaints regarding the aircraft. The MAX fleet is still grounded to this day.
