Expansion in the 1970s

Expansion in the 1970s

Air Tunisie took delivery of its first Boeing aircraft, a 727-200, on 12 March 1972; it would be launched into service on the Tunis-Paris route. A Boeing 707 would be leased from Belgian airline Sabena for the inauguration of flights to London on 1 April 1972. New services to Luxembourg and Jeddah were also launched that same day. Four more 727s joined the fleet between late 1972 and 1973, gradually succeeding older Caravelles and DC-3s.
