Embraer Fleet Explorer

In 2007 Air Portugal launched their subsidiary Explorer. Taking inspiration from the sails used on the famous Portuguese caravelle ships and the Portuguese Cross (Order of Christ), an icon that has been in use for centuries in Portuguese culture. The first ERJ was delivered new in 2006 and was first painted in Air Portugal's -then in use- colours.
