During the rebranding in 1994, Global Airlines also introduced a new brand identity for its regional carrier, Global Metrolink. The main color of the new Metrolink brand was the bright raspberry shade, which was also used as a minor accent color in the mainline Global Airlines brand. Additionally, more emphasis was placed on the word 'Metrolink' than in the previous livery. The first aircraft to be repainted were the BAe 146s operated throughout the northeast for Global Metrolink by New York Airways, followed by the CRJ200s, and then the various propeller types in the fleet.

At the turn of the century Global Metrolink began a fleet renewal program, which consisted of a massive order for 150 Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft placed in the year 2000. Twelve were delivered in 2001, with four each going to Springair, Maine Airways, and Orange Airlines - the regional contract carriers employed by Global Airlines in California, the northeast, and Florida, respectively, which all had CRJ200s already in their fleets. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, however, the Global Metrolink system began to struggle. The CRJ700 order was reduced from 150 to 120 aircraft (only 91 aircraft would actually be delivered before the rest of the order was cancelled in 2008), and the pace of deliveries was reduced. Financial difficulties experienced by all regional contract carriers led to Global Airlines launching a massive buyout effort - 100% of both Springair and ExcelAir were bought by the carrier in early 2002, and stakes of 40% in Maine Airways, 25% in New York Airways, and 20% in Orange Airlines were bought before the end of 2003.

    mmmm yeessss

Not gonna lie, it does remind me of Heartland quite a bit

Aside from the similarities, it's pretty cool, details are nice

Oh yeah I see it now that you've said that...it does kind of look like Heartland/Heartland Airlink.

Basically I just kind of inverted the mainline livery and used the pink accent color, and I will admit that once I saw what that looked like it became inspired by US Airways Metrojet, but the Heartland similarity isn't intentional.

This is the best thing from this airline yet.
