(all those types of routes need is a well placed a333 or 757 at max freq to bring them down to $20 fares).
I have 2 x A333's is this an invite to have fun.

One-ways still produce half the revenue if there is enough demand for a roundtrip. If there is not enough demand for a roundtrip (2x number of seats), a one-way becomes more profitable because there are half the seats available so the ticket price goes up.
I see your point about having insane profits with one-ways - this will be taken into consideration when I design the new lf script.

The economy in sim2 (and AE in general) become virtually invincible.

well after 4 days, my origional fears are true... a q400 and 30mil is just too much to start with... i mean the there are airlines with 20+ aircraft already only after 4 days... at that rate the round should be over in about 2 RW months... you never use to be able get aircraft that quickly... starting with a q400 and 30 mil puts u months if not a year ahead of where you use to start... even with the profits being "lowered".

I managed fine with one aircraft and the first month you don't lose any gates anyway, you get a warning.

If you wait till the second server kicks in it will alter, however in early stages, some will stay red till more players enter the system.....go play Xbox for 1/2 an hour and check back....Really Annoying. Still Red.

If you PM David or Tobias Iam sure when either has time that they will reset your password for you.....remember the server moved !!!!Cleverly, I managed to forget the password for my account and couldn't retrieve it as the email address it would be sent to is no longer active. So today I registered a new account, which seemed to work at first, but now no longer does. I'm told that the account does not exist.
Have I missed something here and nobody is able to log in at the moment - or should I go and register yet another new account?

Now even more confused.....need that 2nd drink to work that outTo solve the long haul roundtrip problem, we could switch to a weekly system (for example, 5x weekly instead of having a daily one-way). So aircraft would have 154 hours a week to play with, and it would be more similar to real life operations. Just a thought

All your starting aircraft are 5-yrs old....Look this: http://ae.simulation...hp?player=23127 Average age: 5.0 years!!!
It is obvious that they are cheating!

Points notes, just want this reset to become an even playing field, I am sure all honest players seek this simple request.Hi Janice,
Point 1: I will check how this is possible, but the second aircraft is not a aircraft bought via the used market. Checked the history entrys, every aircraft has only one history-entry right now - a sold and brought aircraft will have at least two entrys (data about the old owner, data about the new one). Thats not the case - but its true, I don't know right now whats going on in this case. There are also no entries in finance-table that the user has bought an ac. So thats definitivly cheating - the user will get banned.
Point 2: I know there are problems with one way. But I see some problems in solving this without a schedule. So in my opinion it should be possible to fly triangles with one-way routes. For example you should be able to plan this flights in sequence:
- FRA-FCO
- FCO-TXL
- TXL-FRA
So this is a closed sequence, should be possible and is ok. Not ok is such an sequence:
- FRA-FCO
- FCO-TXL
- FCO-LHR
- LHR-DUB
Thats not closed, and in this constellation the aircraft has to start two times from FCO, but it will fly only once through Rome. But without a schedule system its difficult to detect illegal one-way-sequences. Know a user creates route per route - single process. So the next problem is: take the legal example from above (FRA/FCO/TXL/FRA). Now the user removes the route FCO-TXL. What will happen now? Should we ground the aircraft and warn the user? Because now it's an illegal constellation.
So I will solve this problem - just give me some ideas. Is ground due to illegal constellation too hard? If not, it will be done very soon!
Bye,
Tobias

Hi folks,
due to some strange database problems I have forced a reset of the sim2.
The game time will start again on Friday, 17:00 GMT. Mention one thing: It was a hard reset, so the prices/load factor right now are very low - they will rise with more players activated, so wait until friday. Before starting the time again, I will force the routeserver to recalculate all routes, so we have correct prices and loads.

Build in a check that looks at one way freq...
Aircraft 1 fly 1 way from FCO - AMS -> Okay!
Airline tries another with same plane , this time return FCO - AMS -> Okay!
Airline tries with another plane return FCO - AMS -> Okay!
Airline tries with the same plane one way FCO - AMS -> "Sorry , only 1x one way allowed per route"

Well, this would also not be allowed in my world.... You should have a return trip ! and not 2 one ways.
In this simulation we do not really model passengers making a one way trip and not coming back I believe although in real life that is certainly possible. I see being allowed to make 1 one way trip on every route. In fact I would go so far as to say only 1 one way trip allowed per aircraft. Although you may want to make an exception for longhaul planes
