#62125 Page Links HTTP wrong address or Missing !!

Posted by travelhouse on 17 June 2009 - 11:42 AM in Announcements

Players, we are making AE more user friendly, with your help we can speed up the process, if you are moving around the site and find old non-updated pages that need to be looked at, can you please place within this post your comments with the address you refer to?

Example:

http://ae.simulationcloud.net/

Tobias has just updated the latest NEWS - this will be improved as time progresses.

On the side bar, we are improving the links to:

Screenshots (http://ae.simulation...creenshots.html)

and

Aircraft (http://ae.simulation...istaircraft.php)

Both date back to 2004 !! Yes 2004 a long time ago.

However there are links within the vast array of AE pages that go no-place, we need your help to locate them all.

Thanks for your time and enjoy the sim2 reset game. :P

#61306 Runway length at Manchester??

Posted by travelhouse on 25 May 2009 - 11:10 PM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

There seams to be some problem with getting 747's and the like to go from manchester because the runway length is not long enough according to the aircraft data. Now I know for sure in real life that they do and the 777's too..

Anyway to rectify this or is it just the way it is??

Thanks

Paul

Paul, this is a bug, and place it in bug forum, plus give the reference and what runway should be and quote ref, so Developers can attend to it.

Closing this so you can Bug it in a new post.

thanks

Janice

#63640 (Resolved) Purchased stocks not getting delivered.

Posted by travelhouse on 12 July 2009 - 10:47 AM in Bugs

Tobias, I have purchased a lot of stocks, last changeover or anytime over past 2-AE changeovers should of received them, they are still pending.

No point flying again (Glennos) lost me Billions, so trying out the stock market, but pointless if the system dont release shares.

Being charged again for Zero....

(Airline 6181 Geesh What A Struggle)

"Your hubs in asia will be destoyed. Have a nice game."

Not sure what airline you are, however, this type of game play and in-game messages have been happening since the game 1st started many moons ago.

My advise !

Just hit (Delete)

If you must read them - dont let it get you down, remember AE is a semi-type of role game, in the fact that the top of the high tree (being leaderboard) is all some look at reaching some will employ any ways measurable to get there and many do like to play with your mind. (This is eactly whats happening here)

Play your style of game and enjoy.

#59429 [New] Route auto pricing problem

Posted by travelhouse on 22 December 2008 - 11:51 PM in Bugs

http://forums.airlin...read.php?t=8982
I need to say I do not agree that this is fixed. The thread travelhouse pointed to refers to the LF changes, the problem described is another.

Auto-Price does not find the best revenue for all routes I tried it vs. manual pricing. It is not even close to the optimum price. You can easily set the price higher manually and get higher revenue.

Please try that on any 100%-route, in my experience it works everytime.:eureka:

Sorry, I need to say auto-price does not work currently. ;)

Example of this is clear with some players taking full advantage of it:

example: http://www.airlineem...1=HND&city2=SZX

Adding to this, the manual setting of a route and adding more capacity you can acheive more higher pricing, thus the above example is proof.

#58852 Sim 1 now for sale airbus a300b4

Posted by travelhouse on 30 November 2008 - 11:00 PM in Game Discussion (SIM1)

With a reset due there isnt much point trading your aircraft...

#63328 Closed Op's

Posted by travelhouse on 06 July 2009 - 12:16 PM in Airline Press Releases

Thirdly I just noticed since you sold everything the used market prices are half the value of the aircraft's real value depending on how many are for sale. For example if you have about 10 a380's for sale the pricing of these is around 220M , as more get sold the more expensive they get. This seems like something that has been coded in as it worked fine before.

Strange, I just purchased back a few to see if this is a fact and on some I was charged lower than RRP and on a few charged more.

So, thats another bug.

Purchased a massive lot of AC to flood the market again, gotta spend this 12B some how.

Catch ya all later, I am off to Singapore on Friday for a week, will be on line at some time to look and see if any changes

#63749 [Resolved] Where's...

Posted by travelhouse on 13 July 2009 - 12:06 AM in Bugs

For fear of sounding lik a moderator (I'm not), I think you will find that everyone has been affected if you read the multitude of other posts. I also believe that Elchie et al. are working on a solution so demanding one due to "playability" issues probably won't make you many friends.

The reality is that we are all dead in the water until a solution is presented for us all.

Agree, and Glennos would do just this

(CLOSED)

Too many posts, keep it down players and read the Announcement !!!!!!

#58635 [Resolved] even more bugs

Posted by travelhouse on 21 November 2008 - 09:39 PM in Bugs

A very big bug... which has lost alot of companies money... is the ORD-ATL route (chicago-atlanta)... the auto price is at 20$ and 0% load factor...

WOW mother duck ...its a bug? or is it too many on the route, what numbers of actual seats are accomadated?

When you work out what my ? is then you have your answer. :)

I see over 6,000 seats on that route so it should be $20....

But if I had my way I would fly it at $19.99 and knock them all off :D

#59332 [Resolved] Route auto pricing problem

Posted by travelhouse on 12 December 2008 - 07:44 PM in Bugs

Airline ScotsAir
Problem:
very lucrative routes, like FRA-CDG are listed as giving 100% load with a price of $3.450. You edit and recalculate price with auto price, sets the price to $245 and give you 75/80% load.

No - its not a bug and if you was to take time to read the post below your post you will have your answer.

I will close off this post as its not a bug.

Please take time to read forums before announcing issue thanks

#58649 3 Sims?

Posted by travelhouse on 22 November 2008 - 04:30 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

I had another thought the other day, and wanted to throw it out there. In the past, it has been suggested that there be more than one league to deal with rapid saturation on routes. Since the game seems to be moving away from its original "free markets" configuration, I thought maybe it's time to have three games:

1. AE 1946
2. Sim2 (free markets version)
2. Sim2 (restricted markets version)

One of the most frustrating aspects of the game has long been that the real competition is really only among a few dozen players (at most). Everyone else's game play can go reasonably well for a while, then it's all over. Say they know they aren't expert enough to try to go out of ORD or LHR from the beginning, so they opt for a second tier hub city. They may control it for a few game years, but once the top five players build up the big cities, the little guy who went to bed with 25% market share in his lone, lowly hub wakes up to find that the top ranked player has built a 60 gate terminal in his city, dropped A380s on regional routes, and taken 45% share. Game over for the B-rate player, his hub city routes are all money losers, and the sim is fun for fewer and fewer people as the game goes. The rate of failing airlines grows exponentially as the game passes 5 years, which is the real reason for resets. We frequently cite saturation as the reason, but saturation is the underlying cause of the real problem: the game is over. People have been obliterated, and the rankings are for all intents and purposes, fixed in stone.

On the flip side, the problem with the restricted game is that the top players will get frustrated. Once they establish their two hubs per continent or whatever the rule is, the game is done, it's just running to a conclusion that was establish early on. And every round will play out very similarly.

By splitting Sim2 into two versions, players can opt for the hotly competitive open markets version, or the restricted version where you can't expand as much, but the enjoyment will be much longer lasting for the casual player. People in the open market will battle as always for supremacy, and people in the restricted version will vie to carve out their niches.

The arguments for both free market and restricted versions are strong. Why not offer both? As a by-product of bifurcating the game, we'll also enjoy less saturation on routes. That leaves just one problem - the ability of the server to handle three games. No problem, just limit each player to one version at a time.

While your suggestion commands some thought, the game is being altered in many ways, thus keeping its original AE format, after this next reset we will evalulate the games and one thing I can assure you that we all want to keep players interested more than just a few days.

#59742 [Closed] SIM1 - Aircraft sale blocked

Posted by travelhouse on 22 January 2009 - 06:33 PM in Bugs

In sim1, its known as a bug that when two players list an aircraft for sale at the same time, the script gets buggy.

Only way to revert it is to wait till the other player who listed at the same time as you sees your aircraft in their for sale list, they will remove it, and it will be returned.

But you have to wait.

#59501 new server

Posted by travelhouse on 29 December 2008 - 08:03 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

Is it an idea to make a third game server because I want also to manage an airline with aircraft that are also used on this day.
in server 2 is it to bussy to make enough money to buy an aircraft and when I was making enough money the game server was being reset.

Transavia NL

Sure just follow the paypal link and email miller22 that you paid cash for another server to be purchased and this could be your answer to yours and all other players problems.

#61481 Pointless additions?

Posted by travelhouse on 05 June 2009 - 07:46 AM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

Im beggining to see there are alot of pointless features being added or already in the game. features like:
Lifetime Profit? does anyone know what that is?
also some of the new aircraft like the cessna, piaggio, Fairchild Metro23 they will never really have any impact in the game and adding aircraft like that is taking time away from more urgent features

I do fail to see your point :puzzled:

If you are flying regional those aircraft can produce a nice return.

Not all want international flights.

Lifetime profit is you search on it you will see it isnt used, like a lot of other features stock etc, but that was Millers adding.
