G.J. - Alden Air Lines | Med./G.J. - Template
So this has been sitting around for a hot minute now. I made this template exclusively for another brand that I've been working on semi-in-the-background, but I just can't seem to create a good livery for this plane with that brand. I got bored, so I threw Alden's 1959 livery on it. Surprisingly (and somewhat annoyingly), it works quite well, in my opinion. But that's irrelevant; I want your thoughts.
Turbo Connie!!
connies are always better with turboprops
cool story bro.

Believe it or not they only ever built four Turbo-Connies, and all were actually prototypes for the military (R7V-2 and YC-121F). The airliner variant of the L-1249 was never actually built. Instead, Lockheed developed the L-188.
I want one
Honestly you could make jet age livery Connie canon. Pan Am put their jet age livery on their DC-7s and Stratocruisers.
Lovely stuff, btw!
This plane was just a prototype.
This plane was just a prototype.
technically this variant never existed, the only actual prototypes used a military-specific version of the fuselage. Had it entered production as an airliner, it would've used the fuselage of the L-1049E.
I think the nose gets a little weird (which makes sense this aircraft is not shaped similarly to the livery it was designed for) but great job on the custom template and the rest of this looks spectacular - splendid work.
That looks great! I made my own L-1249 too (though I never did anything with it) but yours definitely looks better
cool story bro.
