Just out of curiosity, is this supposed to be normal?

Should mention that I was losing money on this route until I dropped my prices further, and the load factor averaged out around 30-40% (before lowering prices).

If the F-Class $1 fare is what you're talking about, than it is because they do not operate any aircraft on that route that are equipped with F-Class. With no seats, there is nothing to buy, and with nothing to buy, there is no price.
