OOL Runway extension

Posted by Chubby Bear on 23 November 2014 - 09:49 PM

Hi guys

I want to fly B777-200ER's to Gold Coast but can't because the game stated the runway length as 7,684 feet and so the 777 has to high a runway requirement to land there. This is inaccurate as this was the previous runway length BEFORE 2007 . When the runway was extended in 2007 it was taken to 8176 feet thus allowing bigger jets like B777 to land there . Scoot Airlines have daily services between Singapore and OOL as an example with the 777-200ER. ( TZ6 )... Then again the average minimum runway length for the 777-200ER is 8,458 feet not allowing the aircraft to land there in game anyway. This makes no sense if it can fly there in real life.

Please update

Thanks a lot

The actual minimum runway length differs with engine type, so try switching to other engine types. 8458 feet is for the Trent 877 only, so for example you could use the Trent 884 with a minimum runway length of 8093 feet.

I tried switching engine types and I sill can get any 777-200ER to land or take off from OOL. Playing in R6 if that makes any difference. Very frustrating...

Hmm... which engine type did you use? Currently the in-game runway length for Gold Coast is still 7684 feet, so the Trent 884 which I suggested would not work, unfortunately; it would only work if they updated the runway length to 8176 feet, as you stated Gold Coast airport's runway length should be.

Tried the Trent 884 like you suggested but no luck. Doesn't even give weight restrictions or possible penalties just doesn't list the 777 at all.

The Trent 884 works when the runway length is 8093 feet or more, but this is not the case as of the moment.

Try the Trent 892, which has a minimum runway length of 7658 feet, and it should work. Sorry for making this more complicated than it should be - I should have made this clear in my previous post.

No its all good. I tried the 892 and it works but with weight restrictions so no happy with it yet but at least it works thanks for that. Hopefully they update the  info soon :)

fixed, thanks for reporting
