For those unaware of the policy, every 6 months I reduce all members' warning levels by 1 point (2 points if above 5). This happens on June 1 and December 1. I just executed the June wave (a few days late), so if you notice that your warning level decreased, this is why. Posted Image

Effective January 2012, we're moving to a new system where everyone automatically gets 1 point reduction for every 90 days without a warning.

sorry for the probably obvious question... what is a warning, and how do you get them, and how do you know if you already have them/

A warning is gained by breaching the rules or acting inappropriately. You'll usually be given a verbal warning first. They are issued by staff, and have a cumulative effect (you can face bans if you get too many). You can tell if you have any by looking at the "warn status" bar under your user picture in your profile. You'll be pleased to know that you don't have any. :)
