I'm only a couple of days into playing AE, yet after playing 3.0 and 3.1, there is truly no comparison.
Besides the interface being tremendously better, it is the feature of "bonds" that is the true blessing of the upgrade.

In 3.0, since I came into the game so late, there is simply no way to build up the cash to buy the cheaper "$/seat/hr" planes.

2 questions I do have for both games.
1. Why can you not reduce the number of flights per route?

2. Why do Bombardier aircraft suck so bad? In real life they are the darlings of small/medium capacity routes.

3. To get rid of the cheaters, any aircraft that is sold could go into an "auction type" setting for 15 or 30 game days.
ie...If someone sells their 737-900. The starting bid could be X (set by the admin) as the minimum. Then everyone looking for used aircraft would see the 737-900. The 737-900 would be on the auction block for what ever amount of days the admin sets up up for. (ie 15-30 game days) If the plane gets ZERO bids, then the plane goes into the regular market place starting at X price. (and then it makes since to knock Y% off the price every 30 days it is sitting around unsold)

1. You can. Go to the flight list of an individual route, select flights you wish to cancel and scroll to the bottom and select "close flights".

2. I've found them to work well - I suppose it depends on the market.

3. An interesting idea - but whats to stop players putting bids in for their own aircraft from other airlines?

1. Mate, From what I can tell. Your method ONLY works by closing the entire route. I am looking to simply reduce the frequency of the flights. Is that possible?
2. Ok, sure.

3. Oh, sure. The "cheater" could easily bid on his own plane. Yet this way there is a cooling off period by having the auction run for 15 or 30 days.
He can't simply sell the plane to from the folding company, and quickly grab it before anyone else sees it.

Also, even if the "cheater" won the auction, he would have won it at the "market price" since other airlines would bid up the price on a bargain aircraft.
The only way this system wouldn't work is if the cheater or group of different cheaters flooded the marketplace with so many spare aircraft.
Yet if this were to happen, I'm sure there are things in place to limit this.

Thanks for the quick reply.

the auction idea wouldnt work because later in the worlds, you get like 50 planes of each kind on the market

It closes the entire route if you select each of the flights on it...
Surely if you only want to close two flights on a seven weekly route, then you choose two of the seven flights, right?

there is a waiting period before a "sold" aircraft re-appears on the used list. but as of current, if a lease is cancelled there is not a waiting period. so its half way there. ive yet to luck out in finding one of my "sold" a/c(same airline i wanted to buy it back due to different finances.)
