Beta Worlds Reset Sunday, May 15

I'm proposing 3 beta worlds to replace the two current ones in a couple of weeks:

AB1: Realistic
1970-2010, 15 min / day
Limit 350 airlines, max 2 per player

AB2: Realistic
1990-2030, 15 min / day
Limit 350 airlines, max 2 per player

AB3: Open
1985-2015, 15 min / day
Limit 500 airlines, max 2 per player

This is a tentative plan and is subject to change. Comments and suggestions are welcome. :)

Hi Yuxi! I'm glad the AE Staff is making a new world! I'm just asking whether or not the old AE 3.1 BETA Open will be replaced by the AB3. Thanks!

Yes, the two current big worlds will be replaced.

Really like the idea of AB1..but I don't think we have enough aircraft from the 70s to start it now

Looks like I'll be able to test out my plan for Ontario Airways, just starting from the 70s. :)

Could one of the realistic worlds be set to 20 minutes per day for people who don't like the fast ones?

Will the 350/350/500 be enough? The current ones are completely full at 750. You're cutting capacity of the worlds by 300. Currently, the worlds are over packed at their 750 numbers. Would it be out of the questions to do 3 realistic and 2 full at those sizes? (or perhaps one 500 full and a 350 full?) - This will give more over all capacity with less over-run airports.

Moo, many of the beta airlines currently in play are inactive. *cough* Japantitan *cough*
If the 2 airline per player limit works, capacity should be ok.

Furthermore, we have to log into worlds to view airline links people have posted. Any chance of this being fixed with the replacement?

In active or not. It's still cluttered. He said nothing above inactive airlines being removed. I'm not sure where you see this as really having any baring on what I said.

Wait... what? How did you even come to this conclusion? The capacity will still be same. Players will just be able to make fewer airlines which, in the end, means nothing in a world where the max limit has been lowered. Yes, fewer airlines are good, but if each player makes 2 airlines thats 125 players. With almost 6,500 registered... We're tapping a very small fraction of the actual AE population. Now this is factoring in a lot of little things... But the overall limit is still heavily reduced. What percent of the actual population of players in beta has more than 2 airlines?

I asked for this a while back. :( This as well as changing planes for routes needs to be fixed. Not to mention selecting certain things on the view route map causes it to break margin.

I like the third choice and the first choice. 2030 is so far off with so many planes missing from that era

Could we try something out in one of them?

Instead of having it cycling through the dates, could we freeze the date and have it cycling one day - so the day changes happening but the date counter doesn't change - so all the aircraft change the same?

When we had the games on separate servers we could fix it, but now they all go off of the same files to make it easier for us. Downside is that you have to log in to do anything now (otherwise hte game will not know which game you are playing, and thus which airline you are linking to)

We can add a ?world=xxx parameter to it like certain scripts I won't mention in public. It's just I haven't gotten around to doing it yet :P
