I think that it'd be great if we could merge with other airlines, and conversely split airlines. I know in a past game I had two airlines that I wish I could have merged. And in my current game, I have regional flights and international flights through one airline; it'd be nice if
I could split my current airline into a mainline airline and a regional airline.

i think this will be adressed in AE 3.2 with the "Subsidiaries"... i do believe that the issue of merging has been adressed before and it is subject to abuse and it would make it very hard for start ups. and you may have wanted to merge 2 500 plane airlines with 530 routes each, its to big

I don't think they will allow the transfer of planes, since it create a great chance of abuse for players, for getting planes ahead of the building queue.

If it allows you to operate in different countries, you should better play OPEN, instead of REALISTIC, saving the trouble of modifying the game.
If it doesn't allow you to operate in different countries, and doesn't allow you to have planes tranferred, what's the point of buying an overseas airline.

You have a good point. Just that in real world it is possible to buy over an overseas airline to operate in a different country.

In AE realistic, the largest airlines are always from either EU, China or USA because of amount of big airports. It is almost impossible for other single nation airline to compete with those.

well i like the idea but i think we should hold off on it and focus on the bugs

Too bad this feature doesn't exist yet! (I'd love to split my airline into two: international and domestic).
