Hey Guys,

Was just wondering if once the worlds are reset following the BETA testing stage, will there be a limit on how many airlines a user can operate?
I'd say 3 airlines per player would be fair within one world, maybe a 2 airlines per world limit if a user takes part in more than one world. Any thought? (Sorry if this has already been asked)

Thanks

Im sure I heard this right. There will be only 2 airlines allowed per a world but AE1 will have unlimited airlines.

I don't think it's even possible to manage 16 airlines (Considering that you had 2 airlines in each world) so really, using 2 accounts would be kind of useless. Anyway...I, like some users have only 2 ailrines so it doesn't bother me what effects the new rules will bring in though I do support 2 airlines each per a game world.

Question: What gameworlds are opperating in 3.1 when it's out and what will be the general types (Which are realistic/ open and what era are they in?).

Thanks :)

This is only my opinion but if you have more than a few airlines then you have way too much time on your hands. I think 2 per world is appropriate.

Without Code Share - 2 airlines per person per world
With Code Share - 1 airline per person per world (if airlines can setup 100% owned "Express" airlines within their airline - otherwise 2 per person)

In the real world the Company (Virgin Group) that owns Virgin Atlantic also owns several other airlines,
so my question to you Yuxi, when will it be possible to set up more than one airline within the same airline
framework (ie say an American, American Eagle, American Connection etc) with all operating under the same
airline code ? (say with letters after the Flight Numbers - 'E' or 'C' )

AirAsia X - 16% owned by Virgin Group
Air Nigeria - 49% owned by Virgin Group
Virgin America - 25% owned by Virgin Group
Virgin Atlantic Airways - 100% owned by Virgin Group
Virgin Blue Holdings Limited - ?%

http://en.wikipedia....tlantic_Airways
http://en.wikipedia..../Virgin_Express
http://en.wikipedia....n_Blue_Holdings
http://en.wikipedia....oldings_Limited
http://en.wikipedia..../Virgin_America

OAG Flight Guide uses a 'star' between the airline code and the flight number to indicate a "code share"
(Code Share - This symbol means that the flight number is a shared designator flight. This is a flight that is not operated by the airline whose code appears as the characters of the flight number.)

My personal opinion on this matter is that no limit whatsoever should be imposed. We've had unlimited worlds for a while now and they seem to have worked relatively well. Not only this, mine and a lot of other's business plans are based around a number of airlines; for example, for my UK operation alone, I would require 3 airlines, one for regional flights, one for intra-Europe flights and a long haul airline. I just don't think an airline limit is practical, and frankly, I have seen limited abuse of the current system; I have not seen two airlines flooding the same routes, etc. If anything I would even go to the extent of removing the airline cap per world limit too, which again, I think is unessential, and abolishing such limit would, obviously, add some added competition which this game needs frankly.

I can barely control 1 airline let alone 2 or more.
Maybe it's how i expand my airline.

I think the subsidiaries idea is good, for example my airline Air UK could operate the current mainstream operations as well as maybe a low cost or regional/express service with separate reputation and staff wages settings? but the financial data to be overall figures?

Personally I think 2 airlines per game world is fair, I only back the idea of subsidiaries if there is a limit or say 2-3 per airline and for the home country and political restrictions to be the same throughout the subsidiaries of the actual airline.

Of course understandably it could be a nightmare for the developers to introduce such a feature, maybe if the cabin configs and in flight services were to be grouped and separated by subsidiary which would be picked when you create the configs could be used to manage which subsidiary each route is a part of?

I still think there should be just one ranking, one airline details page and one budget across the subsidiaries but somehow for the reputation and staff wages to be individual to each subsidiary?

Any Thoughts? :)
