There are 6 options for selecting IFS Snack combinations, but only 5 different snack qualities.

Should there be more snack options?

For meals there is 3 qualities and 3 options....

Most airlines will either have a good quality service, medium or low. It's mostly down to the price and quantity rather than the varying quality options available, most airlines won't have 3+ options for meals, most only haver 2 or 3 at a push.

As for the snacks, in the real world an airline will likely serve only a small amount of snack ranges with equal pricing levels with slightly varying quality. Such as a range of branded sandwiches with similar price and quality.

A low cost airline would operate a low/medium quality high price IFS (No offence to them, that just how they make their profit :P ). An airline such as BA or AA would offer a high quality service, with variety of free or priced options but the quality would be of a higher standard, rather than 5 options from terrible to terrific.

The more options an airline provided, the more expense it is for the airline, they can't predict bestsellers and which meals won't be bought so they have to take extra amounts of each option to ensure they don't run out of a particular option so in most cases the options are to a minimum depending on the flight duration and aircraft capacity.

Hope this helps :)
