This november I took a little break from life and decided I wanted to catch a Delta heavy, while going to DC. So I found they operated the 767-300ER between ATL-JFK, and the flights were relatively cheap...otherwise I would have caught the ATL-DTW 777-200LR. So here is the aviation related journey of my trip,

First Leg
CLT-ATL
Airline:Delta
Aircraft: MD-88
Livery Style: New (Delta)
Tail #: N911DL
Duration: 45 minutes
Comments: Short flight, with a very nice crew. Spoke to the captain who brought me up to the aging flight deck and was happy to talk to me.

Second Leg
ATL-JFK
Airline: Delta
Aircraft- 767-300ER (Ex Gulf Air)
Livery Style: New (Delta)
Tail #: N155DL
Duration: about 2 hours 15 minutes
Comments: Aircraft was falling apart, after pushback we began our taxi to halt with an engine generator failure. After the problem was corrected we resumed taxi with an otherwise regular flight. Seatbacks and cushions torn revealing the inside of the seats. Landing in JFK was very scneic, over the ocean though rather than the city. Hit the ground with heavy crosswinds and after we touchdown the crew applied full right rudder...fun. Crew was very friendly, captain had a conversation with me about the aircraft and took me up to the flight deck.

Third Leg
JFK-DCA
Airline:Delta Connection (Mesaba)
Aircraft: CRJ-900
Livery Style: New (Delta/Mesaba)
Tail #: N600LR
Duration: about 35 minutes
Comments: JFK was a nightmare...Anyway all the windows were misaligned, mine was ok, probably the best...if my memeory serves, I sat in 17A. Short flight that took us over Fedex field and Andrews AFB. Flew into runway 1 via the Mt Vernon visual approach. we arrived 40 minutes early which confused me as it was a 35 minute flight and we didn't leave early, First Officer was great, had me in the cockpit for a while and had a great chat with me.

First Leg (Return)
BWI-ATL
Airline: AirTran
Aircraft-717-200
Livery:Current
Tail #: N928AT
Duration: about 1 hour and 30 minutes
Comments: Window was scratched and seats were BRICKS!!!! crew was nice and flight was uneventfull

Second Leg
ATL-CLT
Airline:AirTran
Aircraft-717-200
Livery:Current
Tail #: N965AT
Duration: about 50 minutes
Comments: Crew was very nice, and flight was uneventful, very long taxi at ATL.

Nice set of photos, Spenser.

I'm impressed you got onto the Flight Deck. They are strictly off-limits here!

Also, you may find this interesting after our discussion earlier! :)
