Welcome!
Alert Air (IATA: AL) has began operation in Alert, Canada. Our goal is to connect Alert to the rest of the world, and promote tourism to the extreme Canadian arctic. Our initial fleet consists of four rented Airbus A319, and more are expected as we begin to expand. First, Business, and Economy classes are availabe on all flights, with 2F, 8C, and 56Y seats on each plane.
To simplify the ticketing process, we use a flat-fare system. Service is divided into three classes. Alert Arctic Express (AAE) provides short-hual service within the Arctic; Alert Standard Service (ASS) provides service to rest of Canada and northern United State; Alert Premium Service (APS) provides long-hual service. Ticket book of 10 can be purchased for each of the different services.

Spring Service Revision
After the first month of operation, we recieved generally positive response from our valued customers. The operation is successful as we are able to fill up more than 96% of the seats. As the only airline in the Canadian North, we are committed to enhance our arctic service and link communities together. The recent lease of two Bombardier CRJ-100 aircrafts will be used for all Arctic Express services, replacing the Airbus A319.
Arctic Express service change effective May 9, 2008:
- Service to both Whitehorse and Yellowknife will become 5x weekly, up from 3x weekly
- New 2x weekly service to Iqualuit
- New international services to:
--- Reykjavik, Iceland (5x weekly)
--- Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (3x weekly)
--- Narsarsuaq, Greenland (3x weekly)
--- Longyearbyen, Norway (3x weekly)
Service to Toronto
We have recieved numerous requests for a new service connecting Toronto and Alert. We were already in the process of negotiation with Toronto Pearson Internatioal Airport Authority; however, we were unable to reach an agreement about gate leasing cost. The airport insists of charging us a rate that we, or some other small airlines, cannot afford. We will continue to work with the airport authority until an agreement is reached.

Service to Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics
Beijing Olympics is near. For the month of August, Alert Air will be providing a direct 5x weekly service to Beijing Capital Airport using our brand new Airbus A319. This will be our first premium service, and also the first trans-pacific route. A supplemental 3x weekly service to Beijing Nanyuan airport will also begin on August 4th to deal with the expected crowd. Ticket price on both routes will be $2999, $1549, and $749 for first, business, and economy classes, respectively.
Price Cut for Arctic Express
Greate news for arctic commuter! Alert Air is proud to annouce a price cut for Arctic Express services. Effective Auguest 1st, ticket price will drop approximately 20% to $899, $649, and $349 for first, business, and economy class, respectively. Customers who already bought a ticket book of 10 can request a reimbursement from our customer service department.
Along with the price cut, there will be service expansion for some international routes:
- New daily service to both Reykjavik airports
- New daily service to Akureyri, Iceland
- New weekly commuter route to Pituffik, Greenland and Isafjorour, Iceland
Summer Service Revision
Starting Auguest 2nd, a trial service to Toronto Pearson International Airport will be created. This Alert Standard service will run 5x weekly for approximately 6 months to test the fesability of running the service.

Winter Service Adjustment
The Summer Olympic in Beijing is over, and the service to Beijing Capital Airport will be discontinued effective October 11, 2008. However, to meet the demand for our passengers who wish to travel to China, our service to Beijing Nanyuan Airport will continue until the end of this year.
As per customer request, we are moving our service to Washington DC from National to Dulles airport. Service will be improved from 3x weekly to 4x weekly.

Alert Air is pround to introduce new 3x to 5x weekly service to major cities in Europe and Asia. All service effective May 12, 2010.

Introducing the Arctic Explorer Service!
With the delivery of our new ATR-42-600 planes, we are introducing a new Arctic Explorer service. This service will replace some domestic Arctic Connect routes, providing frequent service to more destinations at lower price! Ticket are $1099 for first class, $749 for business class, and $499 for economy class.
Initial service includes daily flight to the following destinations.
- Calgary
- Edmonton
- Regina
- Saskatoon
- Thunder Bay
- Winnipeg
All service begin July 1st.
New Service to the Shanghai 2010 Expo
Effective May 1st, we are providing new service to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, in time for the Expo. Initial service will run twice weekly, which will be expanded as new plane arrives. Ticket starts at just $749 for economy class.
Due to the shortage of plane, service to Osaka Kansai will be temporary reduced to twice weekly. Expect service to be restored as new plane arrives later this month.
Expanding our European Service
With the successful launch of our first European routes earlier this year, we are expanding the service to four new destinations:
- Athens, Greece
- Berlin [Tegel], Germany
- Helsinki, Finland
- Warsaw, Poland
All service are 3x weekly and begin on July 2nd.

Yes, all long distance flights uses 319/319LR, including some Europe and North America ones too

Expanding Asian Service
In response to high demand and with the arrival of a new plane, we are expanding our service to Shanghai from 2x weekly to 5x weekly, with 3 weekly flights arriving at Hongqiao airport and the other 2 weekly flights at Pudong airport. Service will continue to at least November 15, 2010.
In addition to the increased service to Shanghai, we are introducing a new 3x weekly flight to Manila starting August 10th. Flight to Osaka had also being restored to 3x weekly.

With the success of our Arctic Explorer service, we are gradually converting our domestic flights and expand this class of service. As of mid-November, customers will enjoy the cheaper fare and more frequent service on flights to the following destinations:

With the success of our Arctic Explorer service, we are gradually converting our domestic flights and expand this class of service. As of mid-November, customers will enjoy the cheaper fare and more frequent service on flights to the following destinations:

Fuel Surchage for Long-Haul Route
Due to rising fuel cost, it is hard for us to maintain the current service level for some long hual routes without incurring huge losses. In order for us to continue to provide service at current standard, we have decided to implement a fuel surcharge of $250 per ticket. This surcharge will apply on Asia Pacific routes including Osaka, Manila, Shanghai, and Taipei.

Fuel Surchage for Long-Haul Route
Due to rising fuel cost, it is hard for us to maintain the current service level for some long hual routes without incurring huge losses. In order for us to continue to provide service at current standard, we have decided to implement a fuel surcharge of $250 per ticket. This surcharge will apply on Asia Pacific routes including Osaka, Manila, Shanghai, and Taipei.

Promotion for Calgary and Birmingham Routes
Air Alert is now no longer the only airlines serving Alert Airport. In May 2011, Legacy Airlines and NSW Airlines introduced new services to Alert. With the new competitoin, Air Alert is pleased to announce a discount for the service to Calgary and Birmingham. Passengers travelling in Business and Economy class will recieve $250 discount; connecting passengers will also recieve $125 discount. The promotion is effective immediately and will last until further notice.

The route to Pangnirtung airport is a trial service, testing our newly leased BAE HS 748 plane. This plane is designated for short-hual commuter routes servicing airports with short runways, which is not possible for the ATR and CRJ planes to take off and landing. If the trial service is successful, the service will be expand to more international destinations.

Following last month's expansion, we are announcing more new routes to serve Asian destinations. And for the first time, we are expanding into the Middle East region. All routes begin July 1st and are running as Alert Premium AsiaPacific service with fuel surcharge applied:

The route to Pangnirtung airport is a trial service, testing our newly leased BAE HS 748 plane. This plane is designated for short-hual commuter routes servicing airports with short runways, which is not possible for the ATR and CRJ planes to take off and landing. If the trial service is successful, the service will be expand to more international destinations.

Following last month's expansion, we are announcing more new routes to serve Asian destinations. And for the first time, we are expanding into the Middle East region. All routes begin July 1st and are running as Alert Premium AsiaPacific service with fuel surcharge applied:

Improvement in Arctic Explorer Routes

2012 is the End of the World!?
There has been recent talk about the world ending in 2012, and about a place somewhere in Tibet where people can hide and survive... hmm... We don't know where exactly that place is, but we are offering our customers a way to find out. Starting July 1st till.. either the end of 2012 or the end of the world, we are annoucing a new 7x daily service to Lhasa. And the fare... well, we want everyone to have a chance to survive, so it will be $1 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at our customer service counter in Alert Airport.

2012 is the End of the World!?
There has been recent talk about the world ending in 2012, and about a place somewhere in Tibet where people can hide and survive... hmm... We don't know where exactly that place is, but we are offering our customers a way to find out. Starting July 1st till.. either the end of 2012 or the end of the world, we are annoucing a new 7x daily service to Lhasa. And the fare... well, we want everyone to have a chance to survive, so it will be $1 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at our customer service counter in Alert Airport.
