I have noticed that the Airbus a321-200 and the Boeing 757-200 have a very similar passenger capacity, with the 757 having just 8 more seats at max. I believe that the 757 and the a321 should be on the same delivery schedule of 2 weeks rather than the 321 being 2 weeks and the 757 being 3 weeks. This would make much more sense to me.

Yes it is quite a bit larger so an extra week is being modest!

conor, the 757 is not quite a bit larger, its just a few feet, about 10ft in both length and wingspan.

in reality i crunched a few numbers... the 757 would be in line in game at 2week as real world. The 737/a320's should be at 1 week though. the 737 has hit production rates in which one was coming off the line almost every day of the year.

The 757 may have the same length in wingspan but the wing area of the 757 is about 600 square feet bigger the tail of the 757 is also 2 and a half meters bigger and the 757 the 757 is also 30,000KG heavier than the 321

Jus because there is a 738 coming off thenproduction line every day dosent mean it has a short build time for all we know that aircraft could have been ordered over 7 months ago. If an airline ordered an aircraft today they won't get it for months so in AE 2 weeks is very modest <_<

actually the waiting time from order to delivery of a new 737 is ~3 years. also remember though, thats because they are offered for sale years before they go into production, so any aircraft will always have a backlog and a waiting time. Airbus is about the same though, probably a little longer, though they will increase production to 40 a month next year. We arent talking about time it takes to wait for a plane, we are talking about the time between planes delivery.

it wasnt until 05 that the second line came online to releave the origional and increase rates further. Boeing has gotten final assembly down to almost 6 days. So in about a weeks time, the fuselage arrives, the plane gets built, fitted out with interiors/systems, gets painted, flight tested and is ready to be delivered. acheiving those numbers from one line that wasnt even a moving line yet, you better believe it that those planes were flying off those lines.

The 757 may have the same length in wingspan but the wing area of the 757 is about 600 square feet bigger the tail of the 757 is also 2 and a half meters bigger and the 757 the 757 is also 30,000KG heavier than the 321

it doesnt matter. 30k kg doesnt affect the production rate, nore does having a 600ft^2 bigger wing. all of the peices arrive premade. All boeing does is final assembly. Thats been the case for almost three decades now. Look at the 787. When its in full production, assembly time will only be 11-14 days which is nearly the same as the current 737 yet it is 2-3 times the size of the 737.

until a production slot system is made for ordering aircraft, production rates in game will always be off some.

it takes about 7 months from the first fabrication is done to delivery. However, Boeing has pretty much outsources all of this. Airbus is just the same though.

It's the same problem with the 333 and the 772. the 772 takes 4 more weeks to deliver! It's only a little bigger than the 333
