Could we have variable fuel costs?

Let's say we have 3 standard fuel companies in the game like the bank for selling used planes at the moment.

These fuel companies would offer fuel at random prices but within set parameters.

This way we could add an extra dimension to the game. People would be paying difefrent amount for their fuel. You could say have discounts for buying fuel at a certain amount for a certain length of time.

Example
AE_Shell selling at 22cents a gallon / liter 3 year contract
AE_BP selling at 23cents a gallon / liter 2 year contract
AE-Q8 selling at 28cents a gallon / liter 6 month contract

Early morning, but someone likes coffee, so it helps. Anyways, Fuel Hedging, I like this Idea. Have the fuel vary in price like real life. If you get lucky and contract for long term when it is low :Thumbs: but its all on chance. On the flip side, you could be unlucky and fuel hedge when it is high All in all, this would be a great idea; Southwest Airlines predicted correctly and fuel hedged a large sum of fuel and back in the day and that is why they were able to keep their ticket prices low for such a long time and still maintain a profit.
I don't know about having multiple fuel companies but maybe have an option to contract fuel for X many months/years at a price. and have fuel prices fluctuate. This gives us the option to contract fuel at a price so it wont vary.

My only concern is to have it set up so the airline must have the cash available to buy the entire contracted fuel. Maybe also have it demand driven, so the more a/c flying influences the price of fuel a bit.

Yeah. Airlines use a lot of chance when it comes to contracting. Some airlines make a bad choice and others prosper. Hopefully I am one of those airlines that make the right choice. If not, I hope others do. I am in it AE for the fun and of course the total domination -> joking :sdrool:
