We also have a bot called AirBot.
The bot is online 24/7 and will respond at some commands / triggers.
The bot makes some IRC channel results @ http://www.homeserv....ires/stats.html
Commands / Triggers:
If you know a good script for a eggdrop (version 1.6.17) you can send me a private message.
Maybe i will add the script to the bot...

Yeah and I would like to thank HomeServ for this peice of work he made! Though I told you this before I wanted to give you all the credit for it and to keep this topic alive, since the IRC channel is alive and going strong but still seeking for enthousiastic AE players that want to talk about their airline, to brag, to complain, to help, to assist, to close deals, to talk or to discuss

I would like all to remind the channel is still running, yet I like to see it more crowded, also apart from the 'peek' hours in the weekend
Meanwhile, thanks to all the frequent visitors of now and those of the previous AE round for your contributions as information/discussions regarding AE and 'real' aviation and the fun chats, I hope we can continue with the channel for quite some time

Well I thought a few months ago that I'd give it a try and wasn't expecting it to be that good however I was wrong, it is a great place to meet other players from AE, chat and find out about other stuff. I encourage anyone else, even if they aren't interested, just to give it a try.
Hope to see you on irc sometime.

In my opinion, the IRC channel is great, you can talk to people with the same hobbies etc.
And it's always fun, right Chris?

Well, u need to download MIRC, which is provided on www.mirc.com and then, install and connect to the server. The channel name is #AirlineEmpires which u need to type into MIRC and then, u should be able to see the AE channel

There is also a Firefox extension called ChatZilla that will let you connect to IRC:
Can be found http://www.hacksrus....nda/chatzilla/ . It is really easy to install, just click the "install" link and Firefox will install it for you automatically.

Ok, I got ChatZilla installed, a few questions:
Does it matter what server you use? The reason I ask is that some servers work and some servers don't. There is a mention of quakenet in the original thread, but it does work. I got "moznet" to work and got into #AirlineEmpires, but there was no one there. Does everyone have to be on the same server? If I have to be on quakenet, any ideas why I can't connect? It keeps trying to connect but always fails.
Sorry for the Newbie questions and thanks for the help so far.

Jetamerica try a quakenet server that definetly works because some don't any more; try this one: b0rk.uk.quakenet.org then try joining AE

I think my firewall is blocking me from getting online. I couldn't get a connection with ChatZilla so I downloaded mIrc, but when I tried to login to Quakenet using random server, every different server failed because of "software error".
Oh well...

Try to open the port - I believe it is 6668 or 6669, but it can be wrong.

I have found a more easy way to connect:
Use this link:
and click on the link to the channel, press "yes" to run the java application (and dont forget to enter your nickname first)
