You would for example give them a starting capital of say 50 million to start them off, people would then bid with them for the best price, the offer price would be open to the public of course.
Just a thought from me

Could these brokers have special interests/biases?
Would they have to be unbiased?
Just the role for me:
Iam 100% a bitch (According to some), wouldnt give a red-cent to anyone (Yet I have assisted many in the past) - been a broker and even made it into top 10.

Wo wo! Slow down, thats just one person, you contributed so much and things are moving forward. You do what you want, if you what to be a broker be one, forget whatever a few say. Anywho seeing brokers in the game would help alot.Just the role for me:

Back on topic:
They should be unbiased, i.e. accepting the best offer they get.

And to stop one man alliances from popping up all over the place a minimum amount of players would need to be in an alliance before this could be considered by a broker. Just some thoughts.....
We need to make brokerage as flexible as possible and the cheating side would be handled by the admin of the game. I'm sure that if this does happen that any brokers are vetted by the game admins / anti-cheat staff and will play fairly , after all a broker has nothing personally to gain by getting high in the rankings but by only making additional aircraft available to players which is sorely needed after you start earning more than about 40 million dop.
Brokers will mainly be people that enjoy playing the game , maybe logging in 1 or 2x every few days but don't have the time to keep setting routes or getting into the rough and tumble of it all after the first few years

We would also need XYZ brokers so that it would be possible to get a much better price.
More Brokers=More Competition=Better Prices
Yes definately having brokers competing with each other would be a pre :eureka:

Well I was thinking that brokers could be affiliated to an alliance if they want to but not exclusively, if a broker wanted to supply alliances then there would be a profit penalty involved or something like that.

The more I think about this, he more I like your idea, provided we have enough interest in brokers. We would also need a designated broker from each alliance at the start of each round, so we all know which alliances are official. Then, we could have some other general brokers.

On saturday I discussed an idea with somebody (note: not ae-related, not playing and developing - it's good to get sometimes some external thoughts ) about the possiblity of auctions for aircrafts.
A broker is another way of being for a better aircraft-trading-system. I will set it on my To-Do-list, guys - as usually: stay tuned
