I looked through previous posts on this topic, but wasn't entirely sure of something. If I build a terminal at an airport, does it have the same load factor benefits as a hub? Or do I then need to make my terminal into a hub to get the load factor benefits?

Terminal is added PAX so is HUB so if you spend cash on a terminal would you spend just a small amount on a HUB

Really, I didn't know that? I thought it was just added gates (with added rental discount). Is that what you meant?

Also, to gain the best DOP return from making any hub, you should follow these steps;

1. Make the hub, providing you have a lot of routes with Jets perfered on them. (Dont make a hub is you just got 10 routes and turbo-props)

2. Make the hub and allow the sim computer system to (Kick-In) giving it a few hours to compute the fact you have now established this hub.

3. Reset all routes that are in the HUB. (Start from Gate A through to Z)

If you do this your DOP should improve.

That's the important part. If you don't reset your routes, you won't see the benefits from the hub. I tend to start with the high volume (local) routes first and then move on to the long distance routes. The higher your pax volume, the more benfits you get from having a hub. This is the reason you need to have a large number of pax going through your base city (15-20 gates with 100+ seat aircraft on each route) prior to opening a hub.

So my terminal will do the same thing as the hub? Or once I have the gates from the terminal, do I then need to open a hub at that airport?

Well, if u have enough gates (say 20-25 gates) and fly to say 30-40 destinations with 100-150 aircraft, u should open a hub i say. The hub effect has nothing to do with getting a terminal.

A terminal will just give ya more gates to grow ur airlines from that location, so u can run a bigger operation. Only should be considering if no gates are around at ur location or u want to start a new operation an airport with no gates.

I think the references to Sim3, 4 and 5 were attempted tongue-in-cheek humour. ;)

But I do have the same question as to resetting routes. Do they need to be physically closed and reopened? Or will simply opening the route page and adjusting the fare reset the route?

Within this thread is both your answers, this is the answers stated above;

I said RESET

Also the very next post within this thread said:

I do see the word RESET stated again.

Reset = Open then and reset them.

As for my idiom and cheek reply, yes it was as if players would just spend the time to read post within a thread, they would gain their answers.
