After many game months of slowly expanding, Jersey Airway's Chief Executive Tom Cruikshank decided that it was time to rebrand and restructure Jersey Airways.:

The brand image will stay the same, as we are well recognised and well respected withing the industry, but our business plan will dramatically change. We have now closed out London and Newcastle bases and dramatically reduced capacity at Edinburgh. This was not a decision that was made likely, but in the current climate, we resolved that it was better to buy newer more efficient aircraft rather than slowly expand using the relatively old fleets. We now operate a fleet with an average age of 2 years, as opposed to the average age of 4 years previously. We have dramatically cut our costs by cutting back on the Newcastle and London bases; choosing to become a hub and spoke airline based between Edinburgh and Birmingham. We have reduced services from Birmingham, meaning we can utilise the gates on other routes, for example, we previously operated Birmingham to Paris five times daily using a Dornier 328, we now operate the service twice daily using the more fuell efficient (per seat) Saab 2000.

Routes:

Due to the selling of aircraft, our routes out of EDI, LTN and NCL have been reduced, whereas our routes at Birmingham have been expanded, and there are now new destinations served from both BHX and EDI such as Milan Malpensa from Birmingham and Prague from Edingburgh.

Aircraft:

Our Fleet is as follows, all aircraft based at Birmingham except 2 Saab 2000 and the 2 Dornier Aircraft, which will remain in the fleet until more 2000/Q400 aircraft become available.

We also have 1 Airbus A319-100, which will be used for flioghts to America from Birmingham, and two Airbus A320-200 aircraft also destined for Birmingham, which will free up two aircraft to move to Edinburgh, which will replace the 328 aircraft.

Finance:

We are extremely pleased with our finances at the moment. Although our net profits have take a drop, our otugoings have dropped, resulting in the airline taking more money per month. The loss of expensive London and Necastle gates undoubtedly contributed to this.

Future

We have to be tight lipped about our future plans, but I can reveal that transatlantic flights will begin shortly, from both Edinburgh and Birmignham, as well as increased flights from Edingburgh
