Perhaps a way to prevent this game getting saturated too early is to apply the concept of the "Devil Takes the Hindmost". How this would work is that after say 3 years all players above 800 would be deleted from the game. No new entrants would be allowed in at that point. Then each year after that 100 players would be eliminated until only 300 players are left.
In order to keep all players' interest however, a second "open" game could commence at some point.

Im going to move this to suggestions first...
But i like the idea. Would leave enough players around to give those a chance to grow while stop people coming late into the game and complain about the lack of gates and not making enough profit due to market saturation and stuff.

I don't think the saturation is really do to the small airlines or the newbies though. Almost all the flying is done by the top 300.
