Hey,
I think all unactive airlines should be closed down, including all routes, to increase the capacity of the game.
thanks

I think they already do that, isn't the rule 14 days without logging in?

It used to be that if you did not login for 2 weeks then your account would be forfeited. I believe that mechanism does not work any more.
Anyway, it's far too late in the game to worry about that now, maybe it can be fixed for the next round.

You are correct, it doesn't. Earlier this year, I didn't log in for almost 6 weeks, and I still had everything like normal...

I think seriously there's some clearing to be done. I have a few competitors on my routes that haven't changed their prices even though I know that it is impossible to make a profit at that ticket price.

As the game moves on, this matter will be taken care of with better care. For the time being, focus on developing ur airlines. We all still in our infancies

But the fact is that even though they're inactive, they're affecting my profits and broght my DOP down from 290k to 154k...

Uhm... why not rework the mechanic suggested?
After a 2 week inactivity period the airline is put up for auction by its creditors/shareholders... highest bidder wins of the other players. All assets, (planes, gates, debt) are transferred to the winning bidder. say a 1-2 game month period for the auction. Some of these airlines i see have very valuable gates at their disposal, yet their planes mundanely keep them active keeping them out of the disposable population. after that either remove the inactive account (if no one wins, with its assets and gates returned) or move the playerid to a different table with a record of how much they pulled in auction for the player (if they ever return from the abyss) to restart their airline with opposed to the default 5m/2 b31 or beech/5 gates... with some floor at that default start.
Real airlines (even bankrupt ones it seems Northwest is proving) aquire other airlines for multiple reasons.

I'm pretty sure that everything that was messed up over the last few rounds should be fixed for the new version when it comes out. So that means planes should start to age (maybe this will slow down the ones that get too big), unactive airlines should be scrapped, and so on.
