What about this? At the end of the second AE year, a system kicks in where you can only set airfares at +/- 25% of the average fare for that route. This would stop airlines using very low fares to stuff everyone else up.
eg. If the average fare for a route was $100 you could charge between $75 and $125.

that sucks tbh .. If some airline had a strong hub in a city he wouldn't be albe to get the max effect of it becuase the 125 % of av limit . That would mean i'd loose a few Million DOP on my long-hauls where competition needs to cup my fare down to about 50% to get some LF on their flight(s)

In my way of route management I need to have lower fares and even lower profits in order for me to sucessfully manage my airline. If people keep coming on routes eroding my profit I get pissed off, so sometimes I just place an A330 or something like that to return the favour.

What happens to an airline that is established on a route and doesn't change their price, even when competition comes in and cuts the average way down?
I operate a couple of routes where one line is priced $400, but several lines and myself operate at ~$250.

not to mention this, like most other ideas, can be abused.
say I put 15 planes on a route. Each time I put a plane on at the lowest price. The average price is lower for each plane I put on. If I have enough planes I can drop it down to $1 regardless of who charged what price. Then I just remove all the planes I don't want to keep on the route.

I think the idea is a good concept, but what if you just made it so you could not operate a route with a negative profit? That would keep the fares in check and also allow airlines with a hub there to keep their operations profitable to them.

Wouldn't happen and wouldn't work, the sad part of this game is that the top say 25 airlines get stronger and the weak get poorer. Those with the cash can out-buy any other airline in many ways thus they want monolopy and squash anyone who is in their way
If you want to be able to make the game a more equal playing tarmac, you have to change the whole structure of this game, which will not happen, but rest assusred that the next version will be more equal and oppertunities for all the players with a penalty for monolopy tatics and many other factors to cope with

Thats ok, totally understand. But it's good that TW and Miller notice that the playing field is starting to get a bit unbalenced.
