Aggg. The 767. :scratchhead:

I want to ask to you. How do you manage your 767 fleet?

Taking in mind that its very difficult to replace older aircraft with new models or alternate planes with a bast fleet of 767. I explain:

Boeing 767-200ER,Boeing 767-200 who have max 290pax:

After the Airbus A310-300 end of production, same as the Boeing 757-300 in 2005 you have no similar aircraft to replace that range of max 290pax plane, except the Ilyushin Il-96-300 with have a production rate of a plane every 4 weeks, and it is a very russian plane.

Boeing 767-300ER and Boeing 767-300 who have max 351pax:

Same case: Airbus A300-600R  production ends at 2007.

The Airbus A340-500 could be a option having max 375pax but its a interim option due this short live in production ending in 2011

The Boeing 767-400ER its a exception because there are other planes available in the same pax range.

As you could see after 2005 and 2011 there are no similar aircraft to cope or replace the ageing 767 fleet.

Im talking the max 290pax and 351pax range.

How you manage the coming of obsolescence of your 767 fleet?

The production line are enough to satisfy your demand?

Did you migrate to a lower or upper capacity plane?

You dont matter flying with older aircraft (as do Delta  :D )?

I invite you to share your strategies...

* you need to have logged in your airline to review the aircraft data.

Thankfully the 767-200ER, -300, -300ER, and -400ER are produced until the end of the game. It is feasible, though somewhat unrealistic, to replace your older 767s with newer ones.

I always operate them until the end of the game precisely because there are no good replacements.

All of my 767s are 767-200ERs. 350-seat aircraft really aren't that great, since you can just get the 400ish seat A330-200 or 350ish seat A300s. Are there that many routes that only the B767-300ER could operate with a reasonable frequency? Sure, but the B787-8 comes out not too long after and pretty much renders the B767-300ER obsolete anyway.

B767-400ER? Just get an A330-200. Same passenger capacity, better performance in almost every way.

So why a 290 seat B767-200ER that is just a A310-300ER? One reason, and one reason only: With the PW 405x engines you can get a plane that has ~8000 miles range with a takeoff distance of ~6400 feet. You know Burbank airport in the Los Angeles area with its 6800 ft runway? Before the 787-8 comes out the only way you're operating a flight over 4800 miles long is with a B767-200ER with the right engines. It's an airport with a good amount of demand just within reach of all of the major Asian airports that gives anyone who operates the B767-200ER with PW engines (and A330-200 with Trent 772Bs) an absolute monopoly on every transpacific flight from the airport.

Tl;dr: funny runway performance

B757-200 best plane you can't change my mind

787s. Just like RL. The constant growth of demand up until 2020 usually means that by the time I can buy 787s I can usually fill them.
Also, There is nothing stopping you from leveraging the 787s higher efficiency and just running less seats (or less flights)
