I'm looking to start an airline when R1 resets and I'm wondering what a good starting country would be? I'm considering Greece or Turkey for their plentiful short, high-demand routes but I want to hear what everyone else thinks. USA probably is out of the question because I know there's gonna be fierce competition.
What's the best starting country?

Competition doesn’t matter when starting early. Best options are USA and China, but you could also pick any EU country after 2000.

Was thinking of going USA after some thought. Looking to start at CLT or BWI, are those good? Haven't played in a while.

CLT is very good, I’ve started several top 10 airlines from there. BWI should be good as well.

Saudi Arabia actually has a good number of medium sized airports with some insanely large routes to some cities. Mecca and Hajj really do make the coffers go brrrr

I've always had success with medium sized US airports. Airports like CLT, MCI, BUR, LGB, SAN, etc. All of the hyper competitive people fight for JFK routes and I'm just chilling with a monopoly at PBI and OKC.

Thanks for the response. I've settled on CLT as there's a ton of demand out of there from what I can see. I'll probably try to get some JFK routes for transatlantic stuff but CLT seems to have good enough demand there as well
