Anyone give suggestions for F-70 replacement? My best replacement is probably is the Antonov An-72
(Current Date is 1999)

I like to keep aircraft age young and some are already 7-9 years and the F-70 has stopped production

Easiest way to do some DIY research is to go to the "Browse Aircraft" tab in the gameworld & see what's around in that period or what's coming soon.

For 1999, you've got the ATR72-500 (1997) with similar pax, much cheaper fuel burn & comparable range. Only downside is speed.

On the other hand, you could go with a B737-700 or B717-200 if you want a jet.

The Q400 comes out in 1999, whilst the CRJ-700 in 2001 (including ER model), or the Embraer 170 in 2002 are probably also good jet-for-jet replacements for the F-70.

Aircraft age is fine as long as it is under 20. You can usually even go up to 30 years. Therefore you can probably wait for ATR-72-600s or keep the F-70s until the world ends.

i was gonna say that it's quite realistic to keep aircraft in service a while, then I realized you're contemplating Antonovs in New Zealand and the question of realism went out the window

Replace like for like, or as close to it as possible. For an F-70, go for an E175. Comparable pax load, the Embraer has a smaller range, which shouldn't be an issue unless you're operating 1,800 mile long routes with the Fokker. I usually replace planes when they reach 20 years in service. I know for my fleet of MD-83, 717, and F100, I'd replace with a mix of 738 and Embraer 195. 757 is tricky, there's a reason why the IRL majors are keeping 25-year-old planes around.

i guess wait for 787-8? or for 757-200M you can take a 321N, but yeah not any great options
