It's taken 15 years on/off AE to get the #1 Valuation spot but finally did it in the April-July 2020 round of S1. With lockdown and being able to work without seeing people face-to-face, I finally had the time and energy to go all-out.

Having joined AE in 2005, I had managed to quickly grasp the meta of producing tons of DOP. Unfortunately, the prevalence of bugs in AE2 meant non-stop maintenance which was an impossible slog. This left such a bitter feeling that I did not return to AE until several years after reading Yuxi's mass e-mail about the improved AE3.

AE3 was definitely a huge improvement in terms of bug reduction and functionality. It is extremely easy to search, create and maintain routes compared to AE2 and other competitors. However some bugs still remain, such as:

1. Anyone swapping aircraft messes up connecting demand and needs a route reset.

2. In S1, there's a way of creating many terminals in a one terminal world.

Still, better than having to reset one-way routes every 59 minutes past the hour in the old days. Or people magically creating 5 extra gates at a 0 gate available airport by simply creating a new airline.

I can now rest easy with this game.

Well, it was about time, so congratulations on finally getting an airline to the #1 and maintaining in during the course of the game world.

:D

Well done on finally getting there after all this time!

Thank you guys!

Yeah, it's good to see some old faces sticking around. A lot of people have moved on and it seems the servers aren't as full as they once were these days.

p.s. This Maestro guy is from 2004, ancient and prehistoric!

'Stro is old. :P (love you really)

Indeed AE is thinning out a lot, definitely filled up again in the last few months temporarily, but with new up and coming games such as airsim.world It's got to be getting hard to compete with the old AE3 now.

I tried that game in May or so, definitely has potential although it was very much an Alpha at the time. With work at home continuing, I may give it another crack. As for AE, I cannot believe S1 is going to start with less than 30 airlines!
