Yeah, but who? the two AF1 planes are twins, so an order of that kind would be a pair, same for the Japanese 747's, does the RAF have a 747 for the Queen's fleet that might be replaced?

Not sure, possible Middle Eastern too, there seems to be a lot of large size VIP aircraft there.

Maybe it's part of a bigger order, but Boeing does not count orders as firm until they receive the initial deposit. It's quite possible that a customer signed a contract for a larger number, but the deposits for individual planes will be spread over time for cashflow reasons, especially if the customer is in tight financial situation (UA, for example). The orders will be firmed up as the deposits are paid.
By the way boeing doesn't seem to worry that much about the lack of orders for the 748, I wouldn't too as I think it will be a succes...

Hold on...where does it even say 747-8 on the chart? The only places I see one order are under 767 and 787... Unless im the one who misread the chart....

Go to the Boeing orders page, then click on user defined reports, and then look for the 748.

Well that explains why it never showed on the first link given...as for why only one? Who cares..at least its an order...
