This should help keeping a world mostly spam free. But also adds to the challenge of a constantly evolving airline.

Although I see your logic here, this is still a game, and the freedom should be unlimited. Maybe a world could be created with something like this, but still no.

AE is the best.

I kinda agree... I hate those airlines with 3,000 Planes... I think though it should be more like 1,000 like the AA fleet or like 600 or something. I do think something like this would be worth it though.

Maybe have a higher cost for airlines with over 3000 aircraft, because in a realistic world, these airlines would need somewhere to house such a fleet.

The reason 500 is a bad number is because there are real world airlines with more aircraft than this.

I don't think the worlds will be spam free. They'll just be spammed with widebodies.

This would get boring once an airline reached 500; I mean what do you do then, other than change out aircraft to expand routes.

Maybe one world like this, that has the limit at 500 or 1000, because then you'd be forced to have a new fleet. But, it would have to be a short world, as you couldn't expand your network after 500 A/c.

Perhaps aircraft, like in the real world, should be withdrawn from service on a specified date. You can still Tridents flying in 2015 or even later in AE.

How about no.

There are airlines that had more than 500 aircraft as said by Max Devo.

If there had to be a limit it'd be more like 2000.

I wholeheartedly endorse this suggestion. I can see a dedicated S world for it.

This will bring new challenge, as well as new gameplay approach to AE. I imagine the race for valuation will be totally different, and fiercer.

My additional suggestion is to make the world cover a long period (1975-2025?) that provide numerous generations change of aircraft.

This world will be a test for consistency, and persistency.

I need to remind us that we do have S worlds in AE where we set up some unrealistic limitations/challenges.

Although I see your logic here, this is still a game, and the freedom should be unlimited. Maybe a world could be created with something like this, but still no.

Unlimited freedom leads to anarchy, which is exactly what we have today.

The reason 500 is a bad number is because there are real world airlines with more aircraft than this.

Lest we forget:

  • Aeroflot before the Wall fell
  • American Airlines
  • Delta
  • United Airlines
  • Southwest
  • FedEx
  • China Southern

Oh I totally forgot that we need to maintain realism in our non-realistic worlds to make sure our non-realistic airlines, either the ones which approach realism or those who forsaken it for the sake of blue pax glory, thrive in the yet another round where we use the exact strategy we used before.

Maybe one world like this, that has the limit at 500 or 1000, because then you'd be forced to have a new fleet. But, it would have to be a short world, as you couldn't expand your network after 500 A/c.

That's the challenge, a world where you can't expand. That's realism right there!

Perhaps aircraft, like in the real world, should be withdrawn from service on a specified date. You can still Tridents flying in 2015 or even later in AE.

Finally, an experienced man who understands the situation. In a world with limited aircraft, fleet renewal is a must.

It's 2010 in R1 and I have Stratocruisers worth $159. I'm going to leave them for the remaining 15 years to see how bad it gets.

In the real world, there are no limits to how long you can keep an A/C flying, as long as you maintain it and add hushkits as necessary.

This is definitely what I was thinking. I like to replace older aircraft and build reputation while ding so. I think it would be an awesome challenge because you can only operate up to 500 so ordering new aircraft adds to the challenge. Aircraft on order counts toward the aircraft so it adds more to it. No having hundreds of aircraft on order.
