Finished a game as an airline in the top 3 by reputation

Dubai Al Maktoum Airport has capacity for 200 million annual passengers yet has relatively few gates in AE. Ceiba Airport in Puerto Rico, on the other hand, has 25 gates in AE yet isn't as big or busy in the real world. And Antalya Airport has the same number of gates as Ataturk Airport in AE (100 gates) yet currently only carries half as many passengers as Ataturk. What are some reasons for the variations?

If I'm not wrong over time in the game the annual passengers change depending on the real world at this time. Also the total number of gates increases slightly over time. Passengers in particular time in the year are a little bit more. Still I'm not exactly 100% sure if it is implemented or planed for AE4.
