They should make at least one realistic world that's modern, so like 1990-2020 and set a limit to number of seats you can have on each route so one cannot go way over the daily demand. Between the airlines on a route they can have more than the daily demand in economy class, but one airline cannot have let's say more than 100-150 seats over the daily demand for economy class.

In real life airlines are free to make as many seats/flights available as they wish - whether or not those seats get filled is a matter of competitiveness, prices, demand and supply.  Setting hard limits would ironically be the most unrealistic thing one can do!

 

Just so you know, the indicated daily demand only reflects the number of full-fare passengers allotted for that route.  There exists another class of passengers - the so-called connecting passengers.  There is no indicator of how many connecting passengers an airline might be able to pick up,  so any player interested in flying those kinds of passengers must position itself to acquire them.  No statistics are provided in the game nor is any information provided as to how to position oneself to best acquire and cater to these types of passengers.  Instead you must discover this for yourself.

AE's airport pairing demand figures and nowhere near actual figures anyway, nothing like that would ever fix it.

Lots of airlines do this when a new competitor enters a route.

What would make it more realistic would be a hard limit on gates at airports. One could allow some terminal construction within certain limits but I have not seen any limits so far.

Maybe there is, I'm still rather new to the game. I'm not suggesting it as an improvement however, I think it would change the game too much.

Maybe there is, I'm still rather new to the game. I'm not suggesting it as an improvement however, I think it would change the game too much.

 

This could be good, but there's some people who have like 200 gates at an airport on a terminal they built, but they only use like 5 or less gates. Sometimes even less than one gate. So maybe if you build a terminal but don't fill the slots in a certain amount of time, you lose the gates. So like the same thing that they do with leased gates.

 I agree on that after a certain amount of time you should lose gates you are not using. Perhaps after 6 months or a year. What could be an improvement would be a limit on gates for each airline at each airport. It's highly unrelistic that you could have 200 gates at the same airport.

I think 200 gates is in fact the limit. It might vary, but in my gameworld I hit 200 at ATL & it wouldn't let me have any more.

One problem is that people build a terminal with 200 gates at over 100 airports in the US including the small regional airports and then use less than 50 slots even though they have 200 gates which would give them 10,000 slots
