The recent events in America pain me. I am grieving constantly for this nation. We are all questioning our nations future, and it seems things are just getting worse. However, I do not think the gap between the races is growing. I am not going to sit here and blame Obama for our racial tensions. Only one gap is growing, and it is that between those who want to achieve racial reconciliation and those who don't. The barriers lie on both the side of minorities and on the side of whites. While almost all whites have toned down the rhetoric and have tried to embrace and comfort the black community, Blacks have become noticeably more resentful and violent. We have to find a way to get the stragglers on to this movement. This is not about police shootings specifically, or racial inequality specifically. This is about racial relations, and coming to the point where white and black can work together again. There are many issues to address. Police brutality, black unemployment, the crime issues in inner cities, police forces that are paralyzed in how to deal with high crime areas, a severe cultural change in black communities since the 90s, etc. Some of these issues are politically incorrect to mention, and it is difficult speak on the cause. If you espouse that Blacks are uniquely challenged by much of this, you are called racist. When most people that mention it just truly want to see the issues acknowledged and dealt with. These issues when fixed WILL repair race relations. There are more then I listed, but the issues in minority communities are most responsible for the resentment for whites. They struggle to deal with the challenges of their socio economic status. =We have to love the Black community and they have to be willing to accept. The assertion that no one understands besides blacks is only a wall to prevent real solutions. WE MUST GET RID OF THIS ANIMOSITY.

The two men killed by cops and then the 5 cops killed by snipers in Dallas really have bothered me. This isn't how good policing, or any policing in a democratic naton for that matter should be, and the cops being killed in Dallas is only a hypocritical entirely ineffective response to a problem that counteracts the true purpose of marches and protests like the ones going around the country. This is such a saddening set of events.

We don't need reconciliation between races.

We need reconciliation between Americans.

I see you're really ready to accept the truth.

Your tone is so impartial and reconciliatory. -.- It's always nice to see someone congratulate themselves.

Too bad for your society, it's nice to think that you've "toned down rhetoric" and you can be politically correct all you want (and then support Trump to be less politically correct instead of you), but until behavior is toned down and capable black people are discriminated in daily activities and innocent black people are killed so often, this is hypocrisy and not reconciliation.

At least that's my view of America from the other side of the pond.

Innocent blacks are not killed. We have finally got the facts on Minnesota and it appears to be a justified shooting, don't even argue Baton Rouge. Now is this me saying police brutality is not a problem NO. Now the black community is picking the wrong instances, and it's because racist cops aren't really a thing. They just aren't. Now do cops profile, yes, but the way they do it has been endorsed by the FBI. There are demographic stats and localized crime rates to better concentrate police efforts. This way they are not patrolling Beverly Hills and are in Compton. Where they are more needed! This is just an ugly truth, when cops were given authority in New York to stop and frisk crime rates bottomed out. Not a coincidence. Racism is a problem, but we have to come together as a whole. Whites are desperately trying to find ways to get through, blacks keep insisting their situation isn't fixable or that we are the problem. With that going on nothing is going to change. Also the Ferguson Efffect is to show what happens when cops do not profile. The communties GO TO HELL.

Okay, so where does your reconciliation begin when you deny basic facts proven in every possible way?
