Hello! My name's Luft, and I'm interested in joining GMI.

So I started on AE just over two years ago, learning the ropes and building a presence in the community. My early business models were entirely focused on building the largest fleet to fly the most passengers on the greatest network - and like most young members, with no regard for realism. In addition, during this time, I also applied to GMI under the name EK, and was duly rejected because of the aforementioned mentality that conflicted with GMI's organization. After founding the now-defunct alliance ENVOY, I became a member of several other alliances such as Aspire, which opened up my horizons to working under established members of AE to rework my strategies. After taking a self-imposed six-month break from AE, I'm back and eager to participate once again in the community. My most frequented regions for running an airline are India, the Middle East, and Europe - though I do occasionally venture outside of there to the Americas and such. My business model usually leans toward that of a premium carrier, but alas - I don't currently have the time to run such an airline. While I don't currently run an airline that would fit my traditional model, I've included a description of an airline that I do currently run for reference, in the S3-C world.

AMAL Linhas Aéreas :: FACTSHEET

Destinations: 86

Connecting 55 destinations domestically to our hubs in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Salvador, and Recife, AMAL is Brazil's gateway to the world, serving an additional 31 international destinations across 4 continents.

Fleet: 197

AMAL's ultramodern fleet of 197 Airbus & ATR aircraft is one of our greatest assets. By maintaining an all-GE Airbus fleet, as well as an all-UT-powered fleet of ATRs, we ensure streamlined efficiency across all types, which have been reduced to three. In addition, fleet commonality keeps the maintenance costs of our large fleet under 52 million dollars a month. The Airbus A320 forms the backbone of our domestic network as well as South American international operations, and is supplemented by our sizable fleet of A319s, and ATR-72-200 and ATR-72-500 aircraft on regional flights. Our longhaul international operations are in turn managed by our mixed fleet of 50 A330-200s, A330-300s, and A340-300s, with all longhaul flights arriving and departing from our primary hubs at Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasilia.

Business Model

While not a low-cost carrier in the literal sense of the term, AMAL is a no-frills airline based on efficiency, not comfort. While amenities are plenty both on the ground at at 35,000 feet, AMAL aims to provide customers with a competitive level of service at the best possible cost for both passengers and the airline itself. Our domestic and international operations run under slightly different models, with an economical service model employed on our regional and domestic routes, and full international-level service on longhaul routes.

Future Plans

Even the best maintenance in the world can't stop time. Our fleet, while young, continues to age, and will soon require new orders to replace older aircraft. We are potentially negotiating a deal with Boeing and Embraer for over 150 narrowbody and 65 widebody aircraft, reworking our entire fleet structure. Following the delivery of new Embraers, we plan on introducing additional regional routes to better connect Brazil domestically, especially centered around our hub at Brasilia.

Thank you!
