A few days ago, a British Airways 777 aborted takeoff in LAS due to an engine fire to the #1 engine. They turned off the runway and all evacuated. This reminds me of an accident almost exactly 30 years ago, when British Airtours Flight 28M suffered an engine fire to the #1 engine. Look at the similarities...

Both Boeing aircraft (2276 is B772ER 28M is B732Adv)

Both fires in #1 engine

Both on takeoff roll

But the difference is the aircraft themselves and the Flight 28M had fatalities. Is it me, or maybe every thirty years, a British Airways plane suffers an engine fire on takeoff leading to evacuation? Think about it.

I think secretly George Bush is behind both of them.

I believe this nonsense and shows a lack of respect for those who have died in the earlier incident and also for the actions of the crew on-board BA2276. Sometimes it is not a good idea to create silly 'theories' as it can be found offensive and in fact portrays you to be a immature child.

In the future please discuss these events in an appropriate manor, by either utilizing data from the relative AIB for example, the NTSBs quick report found on their website, unfortunately the site is not responding at the time of this post therefore I cannot provide you with a direct link. Using facts and analysis will help you allot more than these petty pretence.

In all seriousness, the only coincidences are as follows: both planes, both had seats and passengers, there were some crew, they both involved a British company and Brits and the aircraft were both Boeing. However unfortunely, 28M did not benefit from the quick fire response as seen with BA2276 and people unfortunately perished.

Oops. Sorry. I just thought of the coincidence. I didn't mean to make it sound like a conspiracy theory or make myself sound like a child. I will remember next time.
