Hello,

This is a great game, thank you for all your work in developing it! I've noticed a small issue with gates. If I open a route, I can actually return all the gates at either airport (down to zero gates) and still be allowed to operate the route. It doesn't become a problem unless I want to add frequency or open other routes at those airports. So ... free gates.

Not sure if anyone else can recreate this?

I've got negative gate numbers available before. Not sure if this is the same.

Hm, no, my problem is a little different.

For example, if my HQ is San Francisco, I can rent a gate at JFK in New York, and run flights between San Francisco and JFK. Then, I can return my JFK gate even though it's still in use. That way, I still run flights between SFO and JFK, but I don't have to pay the gate rental costs at JFK.

I just tried this in a new airline and was unable to reproduce the problem.

I know there are other issues causing gate/slot counts to go out of sync, though. If you run across this again, can you note the number of slots available at each end before and after adding the flights and when returning the gate "illegally"?

Hi Yuxi,

Thanks for the reply! This is kind of embarrassing, but after I returned the gates, I felt like I was "cheating", so I re-leased all the gates that I was using - from that point forward, I could no longer return gates that were in use.

BUT

I realized just a few minutes ago that I had missed my gates at Hong Kong - I have been running PEK-HKG x23/wk without renting any gates at HKG. Just now, when I tried to open a route from HKG-NNG, I was warned that I didn't have enough slots at the airports to do so. Once I leased a gate at Hong Kong, I was able to open the flight. Now, I have 1 gate rented at HKG, but it only counts 3 slots in use, which are the flights from HKG-NNG. None of the 23 flights from PEK-HKG are using a slot.
